As I’m making this (document), (book), (zine), (showcase)?, I’m thinking about LIMINAL SPACES, but the the liminal spaces known only to designers ● Screenshot folders and adobe creative cloud documents of: sketches, experiments, mock ups, renders, type, shape, colour●These are not meant to be shared, but instead scatterly* archived in the digital world●On SSD’s and memory sticks and google drive● Not yet renamed for client consumption, but a little piece of memory● I look back at some of these works confused and proud● I know there is a long way to go to feel accomplished●But when you have a digital archive of scraps that can be recalled at a moments notice, only taking up bytes, it’s a delightful thing to think about●
*not a real word, but I feel describes the feeling●

I didn’t know what to do with the visual experiments on my website (something which I think is valuable to see), so I made a badly printed, badly bound document to figure that out. This work lies as an insight into the creative process, but also about the value of stepping away from a screen and finding inspiration in print.
